Self Acceptance..

Updated: May 30, 2024

We feel compelled to constantly fix what we learn to identify as problems/issues within ourselves. We're living in an era where self assessment and introspection has FINALLY gone mainstream. Where spiritual awareness, healing and growth is "trending". As wonderful as as it may be that our collective consciousness is guiding us to look inwards, we may not always like what we find. In fact the likelyhood is, we'd often suffer a bit of an ego death when we trully begin to take a deeper dive into our subconscious habits, limiting beliefs and trauma responses. A journey not set out upon by those weak of spirit or courage. If you've taken the time recently to review your inner being pat yourself on the back. The first step is trully the defining one!

Perhaps you've started reading some esoteric material or picked up a book on healing or you're a soul who has embarked on your awakening journey. Whatever it may be, the result will surely trigger certain areas of your life that you'd want to change. Taking a good long look at yourself is a painful process that will often leave us questioning our life choices, our upbringing and our current state of being. These realisations prompt shadow work, a necessary process by which we slowly learn to face our inner demons, recall inner child trauma and the sometimes devastating impact these have had on our lives.

Healing is not linear and can be a tumultuous process as we circle past our pain and navigate our way through the expansion of our awareness. It is easy at this stage to become stuck as we deep dive towards our core wounds. One thing to try to remain cognisant of during this period, is how much of this new found self-truths are we choosing to accept? Or are we desperately trying to fix and alter it with spiritual modalities and practices?

The key to pushing through your pain and the dark corners within yourself is learning to love those parts of you for they served you well when it was needed. Even though it may not appear that way right now. Turning to parts of us that arent so pretty with love and acceptance allows the light to enter our wounds. Its where the magic lies! Our wounds are the gatekeepers to our true divine nature!

Allow yourself to rest in your NOW whatever that may be without judgement or unconscious bias towards yourself or those around you.

Surrender is not giving up.......it is simply letting go of what no longer serves us. In doing so, we create a space within us where healing, peace and clarity can be gained. Love yourself enough today to just let it go........
